Join Geoff Hocking to mark the 170th anniversary of the Red Ribbon Rebellion in Bendigo. Geoff will explore this and other protests that inflamed the events of Eureka and consider how the democratic reforms that followed sparked democracy across the British Empire.
Author, artist, and designer Geoff Hocking was born in the Central Victorian goldfield’s city of Bendigo, and over the past two decades has published several illustrated books including: ‘Eureka Stockade’, ‘The Rebel Chorus’, ‘Dissent on the Diggings’ and recently, ‘Sandhurst - Genesis to Federation’.
Attend Talking History in person at the Eureka Centre (no booking required). Past lectures can be viewed on YouTube by clicking this link.
