Meet the descendants of key Eureka figures, as they discuss their ancestors and their own journeys to personally connect to the Eureka story. The battle of the Eureka Stockade is not only a significant event in Australian history, but also in many family histories.
This discussion will be chaired by Marianne Messer, the great, great granddaughter of miners’ rights activists, Anastasia and Timothy Hayes. Marianne will be joined by fellow Eureka descendants, from both sides of the battle, as they reflect on their role in advancing the Eureka legacy.
Eureka Sunday Community Day will also feature children’s activities, flag talks and an afternoon of live music in the Eureka Stockade Memorial Park. Visit our website for the full schedule of events https://www.eurekacentreballarat.com.au/events.
