From the late nineteenth century up until Federation, a growing sense of national identity was emerging, including amongst Australian-born and raised writers and artists. This display highlights books of poetry and prose from that transitional time by some of Australia’s best loved writers and illustrators, including Will Dyson, Adam Lindsay Gordon, Henry Lawson, Norman Lindsay, and Ethel Turner, just to name a few.
