Thursday 3 December at 5am*

Looking back: The Eureka Dawn Walk

In this video, Eureka Centre Education Officer Hermione Higgins is joined by Peter Freund to walk the trail of the Eureka Dawn Walk. Peter, who was involved in the development, explains the history of the walk and recites some of the narration given on the trail.

The Eureka Dawn Walk was held in Ballarat from 1998 until 2004. Participants would leave the Ballarat Mining Exchange at 3:30am each Eureka Day bearing lanterns and following the trail that the troopers and militia took when they marched on the Eureka Stockade.

*This video has been pre-recorded and will be released at 5.00am on Eureka Day, 3 December 2020.

Thursday 3 December at 9am*
